Listen to the news

Marvell Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) stock is surging on Tuesday as it makes a steady recovery from its recent post-earnings selloff.

Marvell stock had surged 248% over the past 12 months, leaving the equity sensitive to profit-taking when broader futures signaled defensive shifts across growth sectors.

The Nasdaq is up 0.22% while the S&P 500 has shed 0.32% and Technology is leading with a 0.6% gain even as overall breadth leans negative.

Earnings Top Estimates

The selloff followed financial reports released on Aug. 27. Marvell reported second-quarter revenue grew 37% year-over-year to $2.74 billion, topping the $2.71 billion estimate.

Adjusted earnings reached 94 cents per share, above the predicted 92 cents, while operating cash flow hit $605.5 million. Data center revenue jumped 46% during the quarter, driven by sustained product demand.

For the third quarter, Marvell projects revenue of $3.15 billion, plus or minus 5%, above the $3.03 billion expectation. The firm forecasts adjusted earnings of $1.10 per share, plus or minus 5 cents, beating the $1.07 consensus.

Wall Street Analyst Revisions

On Aug. 28, Craig-Hallum maintained a Buy rating and raised its forecast to $300. B. Riley Securities maintained a Buy rating and lowered its forecast to $315.

TD Cowen maintained a Hold rating and raised its target to $245. Oppenheimer maintained an Outperform rating and raised its forecast to $325. Morgan Stanley maintained an Equal-Weight rating and raised its forecast to $246.

Technical Analysis

MRVL is holding a clean uptrend structure, trading above its 20-day SMA ($225.65), 50-day SMA ($219.93), 100-day SMA ($216.57), and well above its 200-day SMA ($152.53). That "stacked" moving-average setup, plus the 20-day SMA above the 50-day SMA, keeps the intermediate trend pointed higher.

Momentum is best framed through RSI, which sits at 53.06—neutral, but consistent with a stock that’s consolidating after a big run rather than breaking down.

The longer-term trend signal remains constructive: the golden cross that formed in October 2025 (50-day SMA above the 200-day SMA) still supports the idea that pullbacks are being bought within a primary uptrend.

MRVL Stock Price Activity: Marvell Technology shares were up 2.80% at $229.80 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
