01:11 AM EDT, 09/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Avolta (AVOL.SW) unveiled a direct wallet-to-wallet stablecoin payment model at its duty-free store in Zurich Airport, according to a Wednesday release. The pilot program will run from Wednesday to Sept. 25, allowing customers to bypass traditional card networks and intermediary payment companies and pay directly via a QR code. The Swiss travel retailer developed the blockchain solution in partnership with digital strategy consulting firm DevelopX.
