Ryanair CEO Flags Millions in Losses After UK Air Traffic Control Issues

07:52 AM EDT, 09/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Ryanair (RYA.IR) is bracing for millions in losses after it was forced to cancel flights due to air traffic control issues in the UK, Reuters reported Wednesday. Chief Executive Officer Michael O'Leary said the budget airline is expecting losses of "five, six million or something," according to the report. The airline recorded a loss of between 2.5 million pounds sterling and 3 million pounds due to the cancellation of 260 flights on Tuesday, and expects to cancel 30 more flights on Wednesday.
