After US tech giant Apple released its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, and other new products, Apple supplier stock trading mixed ups and downs. The iPhone Duo's highest configuration cost $3199, setting a new record for the price of a mass-market smartphone. Other novelties include the iPhone 18 Pro, AirPods 5, and two upgraded Apple Watch. After the press conference, Apple's stock price remained basically flat. KeyBanc analyst Brandon Nispel and others wrote in the research report: “We think this new product has a slight negative impact on Apple's performance. High sales prices are unlikely to fully offset the pressure on gross margins, and shipments may decline, ultimately dragging down the user scale and service business growth.” Among Korean Apple suppliers, LG Innotek's stock price rose as much as 1.6%; LG Display's stock price fluctuated less. 81% of LG Innotek's revenue comes from Apple, and 51% of LG Display's revenue comes from Apple. The stock price of Samsung Electronics, a mobile phone manufacturer and Apple supplier, remained volatile. In the Japanese market, Japan's Alps Alpine rose 3.1%, Murata Manufacturing rose 2%, and TDK rose 1.6%. Alps Alpine's 23% sales came from Apple, and TDK was 10%. Other vendors include Nissha and NOK shares falling slightly.
