Eramet JV Resumes Mining at Weda Bay Nickel in Indonesia After Maintenance

03:24 AM EDT, 09/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Eramet's (ERA.PA) joint venture, PT Weda Bay Nickel, resumed mining in Indonesia after regulatory approval and a four-month care and maintenance period. The French mining and metallurgy company, which holds a 37.8% interest in Weda Bay Nickel, said Thursday that the 2026 guidance for external nickel ore sales will be provided after contractors and equipment are remobilized, a yearly mining plan is redesigned, and administrative work is finalized. Chinese steel manufacturer Tsingshan owns 51.3% of Weda Bay Nickel, while Indonesian state-owned Antam holds 10%.
