Shares of AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVAV) rose sharply in pre-market trading after the company posted better-than-expected first-quarter results.

AeroVironment posted first-quarter revenue of $480.49 million, beating analyst estimates of $456.20 million, according to Benzinga Pro. The drone maker reported adjusted earnings of 59 cents per share for the quarter, beating estimates of 24 cents per share.

AeroVironment shares jumped 5.8% to $149.00 in pre-market trading.
