10:20 AM EDT, 09/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F) secured an order for 229 additional satellites from Eutelsat Communications (ETL.PA, ETL.L) for the satellite operator's OneWeb Low Earth Orbit, or LEO, network. Following the order, the planemaker's subsidiary Airbus Defence and Space signed an authorization to proceed with Eutelsat covering initial industrial activities for the satellites, according to a Thursday release. The new order brings the total number of Airbus-manufactured OneWeb satellites for Eutelsat to 669.
