12:10 AM EDT, 09/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Ørsted (ORSTED.CO) received a final opinion from a European Union-linked advisory commission stating that the taxation rights to its Walney Extension and Hornsea 1 offshore wind farms belong to the UK, where they are located. The Danish renewable energy group said Thursday the Danish Tax Agency and the UK HM Revenue & Customs relayed the opinion as part of a long-standing case between Denmark and the UK. The case relates to taxation rights between the two countries to prevent double taxation. Ørsted intends to engage with the UK's tax regulator regarding the application of the final opinion while awaiting resolution of similar disputes surrounding its other projects.
