The Zhitong Finance App learned that Changfei Optical Fiber Cable (06869) ran low today, rising more than 5% in the afternoon. As of press release, it rose 4.17% to HK$184.8, with a turnover of HK$4.127 billion.
According to the news, Changfei Optical Fiber unveiled a new series of polarization-maintaining optical fiber products at the 27th International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE 2026) and launched the CopackAlign brand. Zhuang Dan, executive director and president of the company, said that CPO and NPO have accelerated from industry consensus to large-scale implementation, and polarization-maintaining optical fiber has become a rigid requirement for AI optical interconnection. Fangzheng Securities previously pointed out that CPO/NPO are expected to drive a sharp increase in demand in the polarized optical fiber market. At the same time, due to the high price of polarized fiber, profit margins are impressive.
It is worth noting that the optical fiber industry continues to be booming. After announcing a long-term agreement to supply data center interconnect fiber to Zayo, Corning immediately signed a multi-billion dollar supply agreement with Verizon to provide more than 80 million miles of high-density optical fiber by 2032; China Mobile announced the list of successful candidates for the 2026-2027 centralized procurement project for ordinary optical cable products. The maximum bid limit for the project was 7.099.8 billion yuan (excluding tax). The procurement scale is equivalent to 69.222 million core kilometers. According to estimates, the equivalent unit price of this mining cable is about 102.56 yuan/core kilometer, an increase of nearly 90% over the previous round of mining.
