05:43 AM EDT, 09/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Mendus (IMMU.ST) reported "positive" initial safety and tolerability data from the Vital-CML trial, which is evaluating vididencel combined with tyrosine kinase inhibitors in chronic myeloid leukemia. The biopharmaceutical company said Friday that a review by the Data Safety Monitoring Board did not find safety or tolerability concerns in eight patients who completed four doses of vididencel. The phase 1b study enrolled patients in the chronic phase of the condition and showed suboptimal responses to current standard-of-care TKI treatment. Additional readouts from the trial are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, with initial top-line data anticipated by mid-2027. Mendus noted that the "positive" initial safety assessment will allow the launch of the Vital-TFR2 phase 2a trial of vididencel in treatment-free remission-eligible patients in the fourth quarter of 2026.
