Vulcan Energy Wins Second Lithium Production License for Germany's Lionheart Project

08:19 AM EDT, 09/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Vulcan Energy Resources (VUL.F) said Friday it secured a second lithium production license for its under-construction Lionheart project in Germany. Under the project, the lithium and renewable energy producer plans to build an integrated lithium and geothermal energy project with a capacity of 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide monohydrate. The production is targeted for 2028. The current license, designated Ilka, is set to expire on Sept. 9, 2032. After that, the company intends to combine the LiThermEx and Ilka licenses into one with a minimum duration of 30 years.
