HII (NYSE:HII) announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Navy to start procurement of long-lead time materials (LLTM) for the construction of planned aircraft carrier CVN 82 at its Newport News Shipbuilding division.

The $336 million undefinitized contract award will initiate advanced procurement of propulsion plant materials critical to the future construction of CVN 82.
