UAE, Iran Sign BRICS Group's Joint Statement Regarding Middle Eastern Conflict

04:07 AM EDT, 09/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The United Arab Emirates and Iran backed the BRICS group's joint statement calling for "maximum restraint" in the Middle Eastern conflict, Reuters reported on Sept. 12. Additionally, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed ⁠Al Nahyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met at the BRICS Group summit in New Delhi, India, to discuss the war and other issues. BRICS is a bloc of nations comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries.
