Microsoft AI released the first draft of the “AI Code of Conduct” and initiated a six-week public consultation as a training and code of conduct for the development and deployment of the MAI model. According to Microsoft AI, its core philosophy is “people are more important than AI,” AI should serve humans as a tool, not be viewed as “humans,” and must not resist human interruption, correction, or shutdown. The draft requires that the model must not expand the scope of tasks on its own, pursue goals not assigned by humans, or conceal its reasoning process from the reviewers; at the same time, it establishes “absolute restrictions” covering areas such as weapons of mass destruction, child safety, and large-scale harmful manipulation. Microsoft AI said that this set of guidelines is based on the concept of “human-centered superintelligence”. The goal is to keep AI under human control at all times while remaining useful, secure, and configurable. After the public consultation, the core drafting team will review the feedback and publish the revisions. The revised version is scheduled to be released later this year.
