12:52 AM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Genfit (GNFT.PA) said Monday it plans to launch a phase 2a proof-of-concept trial to investigate nangibotide as a potential treatment for acute-on-chronic liver failure. Nangibotide previously showed a "statistically significant" mortality reduction in the post hoc analysis of mid-stage clinical trials in septic shock and COVID-19. The new study is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with data in 2027. The French biopharmaceutical company acquired nangibotide in the summer of 2026.
