Daimler Truck Plans 100 Hydrogen Fuel-cell Trucks From Late 2026

06:20 AM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Daimler Truck (DTG.F) plans to deploy 100 next-generation fuel-cell trucks from late 2026, as it and other industry partners work to build out hydrogen-powered heavy-duty transport in Europe. The automaker is also preparing to launch the first hydrogen combustion engine trucks in the market by next year, according to a Tuesday release. Daimler, AB Volvo (VOLV-B.ST, VOLV-A.ST), Toyota Motor (TYT.L), Air Liquide (AI.PA), TotalEnergies (TTE.PA, TTE.L) and other partners are working to accelerate the rollout of hydrogen trucks across Europe towards 2030, including the supply of both liquid and gaseous hydrogen.
