12:20 AM EDT, 09/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Orlen (PKN.WA) agreed to buy 16 cargoes of oil from Norway, the UK, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and the Americas, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing the company. The Polish energy group said it is purchasing the additional oil for its refineries in Poland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic to cover the disruption to supply from Saudi Arabia after an attack took the country's East-West Pipeline offline on Sept. 10. The extra purchases will cover demand for September and October, the report said, citing market sources. Orlen also issued two additional tenders on Wednesday to buy North Sea grades and Brazilian or Guyanese crude oil, the report added. Orlen did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
