02:39 AM EDT, 09/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Competition and Markets Authority launched a merger investigation into Dutch paint company AkzoNobel's (AKZA.AS) proposed acquisition of coatings company Axalta Coating Systems. The regulator said Thursday it will examine whether the deal will result in a substantial lessening of competition in any UK market for goods or services. The deadline for the phase 1 decision is set for Nov. 11.
