10:22 AM EDT, 09/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Ryanair (RYA.IR) plans to expand its flight offerings in the Latvian capital of Riga this winter, following the local airport's new competitive growth incentive scheme designed to lower airport charges. The Irish budget airline is targeting 16 routes, with additional flights on 10 popular routes, including to the Spanish cities of Alicante and Barcelona, as well as to Milan Bergamo in Italy, according to a Thursday release. Two aircraft will also be based at the Riga airport. Separately, Ryanair outlined a $1.6 billion, five-year investment proposal to double its traffic across the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
