reNIKOLA unit signs Sarawak solar power deal

HONG KONG: Malaysian renewable energy company reNIKOLA says its unit, reNIKOLA Gedong Solar (Sarawak), has signed a 30-year power purchase agreement with Syarikat Sesco Bhd for a planned solar project in Sarawak.

The project will require an investment of about RM1bil, reNIKOLA said in a statement. It will be built in Gedong in Sarawak’s Simunjan district and will install solar panel capacity of up to 363MW.

The plant is designed to generate up to 250MW of electricity for the power grid.Syarikat Sesco is a wholly owned unit of Sarawak Energy Bhd. — Reuters
