12:21 AM EDT, 09/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Eiffage (FGR.PA) said Thursday a joint venture between its Belgian subsidiary Smulders and Meyer Werft's Neptun Werft secured the contract for the construction of a converter platform in the North Sea. The Neptun Smulders Offshore Renewables joint venture will build a 2-gigawatt converter intended for the LanWin3 offshore substation project. German transmission system operator 50Hertz commissioned the contract. The French civil engineering construction company said the contract represents the second award from 50Hertz, with the joint venture also awarded a similar contract for the LanWin6 project. German energy technology company Siemens Energy (ENR.F) will supply high-voltage components for both LanWin3 and LanWin6 developments.
