Softcat Raises GBP354 Million to Partly Fund GDT Acquisition

03:00 AM EDT, 09/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Softcat (SCT.L) raised 354 million pounds sterling through an equity issue to partly finance its acquisition of US-based multi-vendor IT solutions provider GDT Topco at an enterprise value of $1.05 billion, according to a Friday release. The equity raise comprises a placing of 18,518,518 shares with existing institutional shareholders and other investors at 18.90 pounds per share, alongside a retail offer of 211,640 shares subscribed through RetailBook. The IT infrastructure technology and services company said its directors expressed non-binding intentions to subscribe for a further 12,432 shares, but the participation is currently deferred. The placing, retail offer and potential director subscription comprise 18,742,590 new shares, or 9.5% of Softcat's existing share capital. The new shares are expected to begin trading on the London stock exchange around Sept. 22.
