07:32 AM EDT, 09/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use recommended the approval of AstraZeneca (AZN.L, AZN.ST) unit Alexion Europe's klygefa drug for generalized myasthenia gravis, a rare and chronic autoimmune disease. Klygefa is indicated as an add-on to standard therapy for the treatment of generalized myasthenia gravis in adults who are anti-acetylcholine receptor antibody positive, according to a Friday release. The committee's endorsement is based on study results showing klygefa's efficacy in reducing disease severity, as well as improving function and quality of life. The drug is pending marketing approval from the European Commission.
