Hogs Facing Weakness on Friday

Lean hog futures are down 50 cents to $1. USDA’s national base hog price was $81.77 in the Friday AM report. The CME Lean Hog Index was down another 79 cents on September 14 at $85.02. 

USDA’s pork carcass cutout value was back down 86 cents in the Friday morning report, at $86.68. The butt, picnic, and ham were the primals reported lower. Federally inspected hog slaughter for Thursday was estimated at 493,000 head, taking the weekly total to 1.951 million head. That was 9,363 head above the same week last year.

Oct 26 Hogs  are at $78.325, down $0.575,

Dec 26 Hogs  are at $68.750, down $0.850

Feb 27 Hogs are at $70.125, down $1.000,
