Coherent recently announced the expansion of its pluggable optical line system product portfolio to launch an optical line system with a compact QSFP package and high power variable gain amplification capability in the full C-band. This enhanced version of POLS is developed for the next generation of 800G ZR/ZR+ digital coherent optical modules. A single fiber pair supports up to 32 DWDM wavelengths, and can carry up to 25.6 Tbps of AI data center business traffic on 2 km to 200 km links.
