PETALING JAYA: Focus Lumber Bhd has deferred the commencement of harvesting activities under its Industrial Tree Planting Agreement (ITPA) with Rakyat Berjaya Sdn Bhd (RBSB) to the first quarter of 2027, from the third quarter of 2026 previously.

The timber company said the deferment followed a review of prevailing operating and market conditions, including the increase in diesel prices and its operating costs.

“Following a review of the prevailing operating and market conditions, including the increase in diesel prices and after reviewing the operating costs, the commencement of harvesting activities has been deferred and is currently expected to commence in the first quarter of 2027,” Focus Lumber said in a Bursa Malaysia filing on Monday.

Meanwhile, nursery works have commenced and are currently underway in preparation for planting activities under the industrial tree plantation project.

“The company will make further announcements on any material developments in relation to the above, where required, in accordance with the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia.”
