Developer Jonathon Gandhi is hoping to replace a Denver bank branch at 606 W. Colfax with a seven-story hotel. Gandhi is pursuing a 168-room hotel, still unbranded, near the Colorado Convention Center. The Denver Business Journal reports the plan calls for demolishing the former 1,226-square-foot Bank of Denver branch, built in 1981, to make way for the 92,260-square-foot hotel.

Features of the proposed Civic Center neighborhood hotel will include a 2,260-square-foot lobby, lounge and breakfast space along with an 11,480-square-foot basement with amenity spaces, including two meeting rooms, a fitness center and laundry facilities and back-of-house space.

Gandhi has more than a decade of experience as a manager of JBK hotels.
