09:49 AM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ASML (ASML.AS) Executive Vice President Frank Heemskerk said the company is "not selling anything at all in Europe" due to a lack of chip factories being built and investment from the region, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday. Heemskerk said at an event in Amsterdam that Europe is at risk of getting left behind as the chip equipment maker is being courted to widen its presence in the US, China and India. "We need to scale up our production. We aren't doing that solely in the Netherlands," Heemskerk said, adding that it is important for ASML that "Europe steps up to the plate."
