03:39 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- France's private sector economy picked up at the end of the third quarter, growing at the fastest pace in over two years amid an increase in sales activity in the service sector, data from S&P Global showed Wednesday. The S&P Global Flash France Composite Output Index hit a 25-month high of 51.2 in September, against the prior month's reading of 48.5. For the manufacturing sector, the PMI was at a two-month low of 50.3, down from the August figure of 51.1 and consensus estimate of 50.9. On the other hand, the services PMI clocked in at a 10-month high of 51.4, compared with the previous month's 48 and market forecasts of 48.3.
