05:26 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development lifted its 2026 and 2027 economic growth forecasts for Spain despite continued uncertainty regarding the conflict in the Middle East. In its latest Economic Outlook report published Wednesday, the OECD said it now expects Spain's gross domestic product to grow 2.6% in 2026, up by 0.4 percentage points from its June forecast, after seeing "solid" growth in domestic demand during the second quarter. For 2027, the projected GDP growth was bumped up by 0.1 percentage point to 1.8%. Meanwhile, the country's headline inflation rate is projected to reach 3.7% in 2026 before declining to 3.4% in 2027, up by 0.4 percentage points and 0.5 percentage points, respectively, from the OECD's previous estimates.
