The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to Antech statistics, the transaction price range for n-type compound feed (rod-shaped silicon) this week was 4.30-43,000 yuan/ton, with an average transaction price of 43,000 yuan/ton; the transaction price range for n-type granular silicon was 4.00-4.100,000 yuan/ton, and the average transaction price was 40,300 yuan/ton.
The domestic polysilicon market climate picked up this week compared to last week. The number of trading companies was 3-4, and the actual turnover increased. As production adjustment plans of various enterprises are gradually clarified, the supply-side contraction expectations of the industry are further strengthened. Starting in October, the overall operating load of the industry is expected to drop to about 35%. Affected by this, some downstream enterprises have gradually begun to replenish stocks. Currently, silicon companies are determined to raise prices, and generally use full cost as the bottom line for quotation. Overall, however, in addition to the procurement that is just needed downstream, enterprises still have stocks of raw materials, and large-scale centralized procurement has not yet started.
According to customs statistics, in August, China's polysilicon imports were 695.1 tons, down 12.1% year on year. The average price was 33.69 US dollars/kg, up 54.7% year on year; the export volume was 3238.4 tons, up 38.1% year on year, and the average price was 11.55 US dollars/kg, up 6.9% year on year. The export volume was significantly higher than the import volume, and the net export trend continued further.
As production adjustment plans of various enterprises are gradually implemented starting in October, the real impact of supply-side contraction will begin to show. The future market needs to focus on observing three major variables: first, the decline in the actual operating rate of enterprises and the degree of implementation of production reduction plans; second, the sustainability and volume scale of spot transactions under the current price system; and third, the degree of recovery in terminal demand.
