Listen to the news

Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTR) shares are rising Wednesday, following through on the breakout setup flagged earlier this week after the stock cleared its prior $188 resistance level.

Palantir Confirms Its Breakout, Turning Old Resistance Into Support

Palantir cleared the $188 level that had capped the stock’s monthslong trading range, then pulled back and tested that same level intraday before holding firm, a classic sign of old resistance flipping into new support. The move follows through on the setup flagged earlier this week, when Palantir was pushing toward the top of a range it had held between $166 and $188 since its early-August earnings rally.

With $188 now acting as a floor, attention shifts to the $199 level as the next resistance to watch, followed by Palantir’s all-time closing high of $207.52. A push toward the $200 psychological level looks like the more immediate test, with a run at prior highs coming into view if the stock’s current momentum holds up.

Underlying today’s strength is a shift in the stock’s longer-term trend signal: Palantir’s 50-day moving average crossed above its 200-day average earlier this month, a golden cross formation that traders commonly treat as an early marker of a developing uptrend. That shift has kept eyes on whether the stock could work its way to the ceiling of its trading range and force a real test of resistance overhead, a scenario that appears to be unfolding now

Palantir’s Technical Setup Remains Firmly Bullish

At its current price near $192.90, Palantir is closing in on resistance around $199, with its 52-week high of $207.52 standing as the next meaningful marker beyond that. Every major moving average sits well beneath where the stock trades now, with the 20-day near $177.51, the 50-day around $161.66 and the 200-day at $151.93, a lineup that fits with a stock in a confirmed uptrend following this month’s golden cross.

Momentum readings back that up too: RSI sits at 67.3, leaving some room before hitting overbought territory, while MACD holds a positive reading of 5.261 against a signal line of 4.579, another sign pointing in the same bullish direction as the stock’s recent price action.

PLTR Shares Are Jumping
