01:41 AM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Acwa Power (SASE:2082) said Thursday that Sidra One for Electricity Co. secured an initial commercial operation certificate for the first units of the Taiba 1 combined-cycle power plant in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The initial units have a generation capacity of 1,272 megawatts, compared with the project's total capacity of 1,934 MW. The Saudi power generation and water desalination company expects the financial impact from the operations to be reflected in its results starting from the fourth quarter. Acwa holds a 40% stake in Sidra One.
