02:03 AM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BofA Global Research maintained its buy rating for Danone (BN.PA), saying it expects the French food products company to benefit from accelerating momentum within its clinical nutrition business. "We expect an ageing population, increased cancer survival rates and rising penetration to fuel sustainable Clinical Nutrition category growth of 7%, almost entirely volume driven. Danone is particularly well-positioned to benefit from this growth. It leads the concentrated [Enteral Nutrition] market, has a broad specialist portfolio and can benefit from low EN penetration in China. We also think the principal perceived risks from aggressive price compression in China and increased competition from Fresenius [FRE.F] in the US are overstated. Our detailed work on Danone Clinical Nutrition supports a 50 [basis point] increase in our [medium-term Specialized Nutrition] growth forecast to 5.5%," analysts said Wednesday. The research firm noted that strong momentum in clinical nutrition and essential dairy and plant-based support its view that Danone can "broadly keep pace" with overall category expansion. With both categories representing over 60% of group sales, BofA projects full-year 2027 organic growth of 4.6%, surpassing the 4% consensus estimate. On the earnings side, analysts made minor EPS forecast tweaks of 0% to -1% for 2026 through 2028 to account for currency movements and expectations of slower North American margin gains. As such, BofA also trimmed its price objective on the stock to 92 euros from 93 euros.
