08:31 AM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Tadawul All Share Index ended Thursday 0.77% in the red as market watchers focused on Saudi Arabia's latest economic releases and the Trump-Xi meeting on Thursday. According to the General Authority for Statistics, Saudi Arabia's merchandise exports for July declined 17.2% year over year, while non-oil exports dropped 26.2%. Imports during the period decreased 15.4%. "'Plastic, rubber, and their articles' were among the most important nonoil export goods, accounting for 19.8% of the total non-oil exports, and decreasing by 17.8% compared to July 2025," the report said. "On the import side, the most important imported goods were 'machinery, electrical equipment, and parts thereof,' which accounted for 25.7% of total imports and decreased by 26.6% compared to July 2025." Meanwhile, preliminary data from the statistics agency said that the kingdom's non-oil exports stood at 17.31 billion Saudi riyals in August. Imports, on the other hand, reached 67.10 billion riyals. In international news, US President Donald Trump and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will hold a meeting at the White House. The talks are expected to focus on the two countries' trade deal, as well as artificial intelligence. Back at home and on the corporate front, Sport Clubs Co. (SASE:6018) entered into a 20-year lease deal for a land plot in Jeddah. The asset will be used to establish a Body Masters-branded sports club. Shares of the fitness center network operator closed 1.89% in the red.
