The Issaquah, Washington-based company said it had net income of $6.75 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $6.60 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $6.48 per share.

The warehouse club operator posted revenue of $95.72 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $94.82 billion.
