02:29 AM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- German export sentiment cooled in September as a slump in automotive industry expectations offset signs of export growth in other industrial sectors, the ifo Institute said Friday. The ifo export expectations declined to 8 points from 9.8 points in August. While auto manufacturers, metal production and the paper industry expect exports to decline, the outlook in mechanical engineering "improved considerably." Similarly, makers of electrical equipment, data processing equipment, electronic and optical products, and beverages anticipate higher export volumes.
