03:53 AM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ArcelorMittal (MT.AS, MTS.MC) said Friday it cannot safely restart operations at its Kryvyi Rih plant in Ukraine following a series of missile strikes that caused extensive damage and casualties. The integrated steel and mining company expects to record a non-cash impairment charge of $1 billion, mainly related to property, plant, and equipment at Kryvyi Rih. ArcelorMittal's site was hit four times over the past five weeks, most recently on Sept. 21, killing five employees and injuring 17.
