07:35 AM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission approved the planned joint control of US-based financial services company Ascensus by Genstar Capital Partners and Stone Point Capital. The deal mainly covers tax-advantaged savings services, according to a Friday notice. The regulator concluded that the transaction would not raise competition concerns as Stone Point is already a controlling shareholder in Ascensus and Genstar Capital does not operate in the same or related markets.
