Listen to the news

Rocket Lab Corporation (NASDAQ:RKLB) shares are trading lower Monday premarket, down about 1%, as aerospace and defense names slide—led by a sharper drop in Boeing (NYSE:BA), pressuring the group.

Separately, Rocket Lab recently completed its 97th Electron launch, delivering a Synspective satellite, according to Benzinga Pro.

The Catalyst

Rocket Lab appears to be moving in sympathy with a weaker aerospace tape, with Boeing down 2.57%, alongside declines in Howmet Aerospace (down 0.64%) and General Dynamics (down 0.48%). Rocket Lab’s 1.19% premarket dip is the second-steepest move among a five-stock peer set.

The broader backdrop is also risk-off, with the Industrials sector ETF (XLI) down 0.29% and the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) down 0.33% in premarket trading.

In recent company-specific developments, Iridium Communications shareholders approved Rocket Lab’s proposed acquisition, with the companies still targeting a mid-2027 closing, while Rocket Lab also won a spot on the Space Force’s NITE-STAR contract vehicle with a combined cap of up to $981 million across awardees.

Cantor Fitzgerald recently reiterated an Overweight rating and $122 price target, with analyst Andres Sheppard calling the upcoming Neutron launch Rocket Lab’s "most material catalyst."

RKLB Technical Setup Remains Mixed

RKLB trades above its 20-day SMA of $65.89 and 50-day SMA of $69.49, signaling improving short-term momentum.

However, the stock remains below its 100-day SMA of $88.09 and 200-day SMA of $81.09, while the 50-day SMA remains below the 200-day SMA following an August death cross.

MACD is above its signal line with a positive histogram, suggesting downside momentum has eased.

Key resistance sits near $87 to $88, close to the 100-day SMA, while support is around $61.

RKLB Earnings Estimates And Analyst Targets

Rocket Lab’s next earnings report is estimated for Nov. 9, 2026.

Wall Street expects a loss of 6 cents per share, compared with a loss of 3 cents a year earlier. Revenue is estimated at $238.53 million, up from $155.05 million.

The stock carries a Buy consensus rating with an average price target of $110.14.
