The Zhitong Finance App learned that FTSE Russell and China Securities Index Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. jointly released the China Securities China Stock Exchange FTSE China A-share Green Income Index and held a cooperation signing ceremony at the conference, marking a landmark step in cross-border cooperation in the field of green finance in China. FTSE Russell leaders and representatives from the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange attended the event.
China Securities Index Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. and FTSE Russell have now joined hands to launch the China Securities China A-share Green Income Index. This is one of the important policy results reached in the 11th Sino-British Economic and Financial Dialogue. It is also a practical measure to promote the high-quality development of indexed investment in the Chinese capital market. Leveraging their respective professional advantages, the three parties actively promoted innovation in indices and related products by deepening international cooperation in the field of indices, helping more international capital to share opportunities for high-quality development of the Chinese economy through indexed investment, and promoting a new step in opening up the capital market at a high level.
Green finance has become an important part of China's financial system. This cooperation is a full reflection of empowering the green and low-carbon transformation by strengthening international cooperation in index compilation. It will help establish an industry benchmark in the A-share green and low-carbon sector, enrich green and low-carbon investment targets, guide market resources to gather high-quality enterprises in the green and low-carbon sector, jointly cultivate a good ecosystem for sustainable development, and better serve the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the economy and society.
The China Securities China A-share Green Income Index selected 100 securities of listed companies with large market capitalization from securities with high green revenue in the A-share market as an index sample. The sample covered the A-share green industry and high-quality enterprises with significant green income characteristics. The total market value coverage rate was close to 92%, and the green income recognition level was high, which fully reflected the development results and investment value of China's green industry.
The index can not only provide a performance benchmark for green investment products, but also serve as a tracking target for passive investment products such as ETFs and index funds. This tripartite partnership to launch the index is an important milestone. FTSE Russell looks forward to continuing to deepen cross-border index cooperation with various partners, actively promote the development of cooperative index products, and provide investors with professional and transparent index investment solutions.
