XRP Compresses Around $1.50: What Does Technical Analysis Say?
Share
Listen to the news

XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) is trading in a tight range as compressed volatility clashes with crowded leveraged longs—a combination that historically precedes a sharp move in one direction.

Key XRP Levels to Watch

Analysis from Bitrue Research Institute, shared in an email note with Benzinga, shows signs of a classic volatility squeeze, for XRP with price recently fluctuating between $1.47 and $1.51.

Short-term support sits near $1.4642, with resistance around $1.5317. The wider trading range is between $1.40 and $1.60.

Momentum remains neutral, with spot buying and selling pressure relatively balanced. While the daily timeframe retains a bullish structural bias, shorter timeframes remain indecisive.

The 14-day Average Directional Index (ADX) sits near 15, indicating weak trend strength and reinforcing the compressed-volatility setup.

A Major Risk

Derivatives positioning tells a more bullish story than the spot market.

XRP’s long-to-short ratio stands around 2.44, indicating leveraged bulls significantly outweigh bears even as spot demand remains balanced.

Bitrue Research Institute flagged this divergence as a key risk.

Low volatility combined with crowded longs can amplify a downside move if prices break support and leveraged positions begin unwinding.

A sustained break below $1.4642 could increase selling pressure and put $1.40 in focus.

Can XRP Break Toward $1.60?

On the upside, a clean break and hold above the $1.5317 to $1.54 resistance zone could strengthen the bullish setup and open a path toward $1.60.

If neither side takes control, Bitrue sees XRP continuing to trade within the narrower $1.46 to $1.53 range.

Veteran Peter Brandt highlighted on Sunday that XRP charts alone have historically provided enough reason to take a position.
