OpenAI released a permanent artificial intelligence agent that aims to actively handle tasks on behalf of users and compete with Meta platforms and other companies in the growing field of AI digital assistants. OpenAI said on Tuesday that the product, called Dots, can operate computers and extract information from various connected applications to conduct research, draft documents, and develop software. Users can direct and interact with this agent by sending messages to it via ChatGPT. The new tool was unveiled at the OpenAI Developer Day event on Tuesday, along with an updated version of its SoL model and a shared space for teams to collaborate with AI. OpenAI has also adjusted its subscription plan: it launched a new high-end $500 payment tier for the first time, providing higher usage limits and faster processing speed, while reducing part of the usage amount of the $200 package.
