12:03 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Avio's (AVIO.MI) Avio USA Inc subsidiary started construction on a 900,000-square-foot solid rocket motor plant in the US. The Italian space propulsion company said Tuesday that the plant in Hurt, Virginia, would be its first manufacturing facility in the US. The site will have an annual capacity for thousands of solid rocket motors. Completion of construction is expected by late 2028, with production to start in early 2029.
