German Flash Annual Inflation Rises to 3.3% in September

08:09 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's annual inflation rate rose to 3.3% in September from 2.9% in August, according to provisional data from the country's Federal Statistical Office published Wednesday. The latest reading is above the consensus estimate of 3.1%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices were up 0.6%, against the previous 0.2% uptick and the expected 0.5% increase. The annual harmonized inflation rate stood at 3.3%, compared with the prior 2.9% and the market forecast of 3.2%. Meanwhile, harmonized consumer prices were 0.6% higher month over month, against the previous reading of a 0.2% rise and the expected 0.5% gain.
