Nationwide: UK Annual House Prices Up 0.8% in September

02:11 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The annual growth rate of house prices in the UK slowed to 0.8% in September from 1.6% in August, according to data from the Nationwide Building Society published Thursday. The consensus estimate for the month was a 1.3% growth in housing prices. The average price of houses was 274,251 pounds sterling, down from 275,465 pounds a month ago. On a monthly basis, seasonally adjusted house prices were 0.2% lower, against the 0.2% increase earlier and the expected zero growth.
