Emirati Stocks Extend Decline; Gulf Crude Exports Recover

07:44 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Markets in the United Arab Emirates ended Thursday's trading session lower for a second consecutive day as investors weighed developments in regional oil flows and US-Iran diplomacy. At the close of Thursday trading, the FTSE ADX General Index was down 0.716%, while the DFM General Index lost 0.506%. Oil prices initially edged lower as Gulf crude exports showed signs of recovery before settling at $100.500 per barrel as of 3:31 pm UAE time, up 2.52% from the previous day. "Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia has resumed tanker loadings at its Yanbu Red Sea terminal following the near-complete restoration of operations along the East-West Pipeline," ING wrote. On the geopolitical front, Iran claims it received a US response to its latest proposal aimed at reviving the collapsed Gulf ceasefire as Washington completed the withdrawal of its forces from Iraq. Iran portrayed the US exit as a strategic gain for its so-called "axis of resistance," Reuters reported. Back in the UAE, Flydubai temporarily suspended all flights to and from Israel while authorities probe an altercation in the flight deck aboard Wednesday's flight FZ 1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The airline remains in contact with government authorities, regulators and airport stakeholders and will reassess the suspension as further information emerges. In corporate news, Burjeel Holdings (ADX:BURJEEL) established a dedicated day-surgery vertical as the healthcare group moves to expand its ambulatory and same-day care operations. The healthcare services company closed the session 0.86% in the green. In Dubai, Dubai National Insurance and Reinsurance (DFM:DNIR) restarted trading on the Dubai Financial Market after its published its board meeting results. The insurer ended trading flat.
