UAE President's diplomatic adviser Anwar Gargash said on the 3rd that the incident in the cockpit of a Dubai Airlines passenger plane once again showed that the fight against extremism in the region is not over. On the same day, Gargash posted on social media that the UAE had taken a firm stand for a long time and had “zero tolerance” for extremism. He said that maintaining security must first start by fighting against hatred and eradicating the root causes of extremism. UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Shamsi said earlier in the day that an investigation into the Dubai Airlines cockpit collision showed that the co-pilot involved attempted to carry out “terrorist activities.”
