11:27 PM EDT, 10/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Moody's Ratings downgraded the long-term issuer rating of UPM-Kymmene (UPM.HE) to Baa2 from Baa1, citing prolonged weakness in the company's credit metrics. In an Oct. 2 note, the rating agency said the Finnish forest products manufacturer's management of leverage and uncertain path to recovery also affected the action. Moody's also changed its outlook on the rating to stable from negative, citing expectations of improvements in the company's earnings and cash generation over the next 12 to 18 months. It also expects the company to adhere to a conservative financial policy.
