04:37 AM EDT, 10/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Swedish defense group Saab's (SAAB-B.ST) British subsidiary developed an experimental autonomous "drone seeker" surface vessel with Kraken aimed at detecting aerial threats in maritime environments. The K3 Scout vessel can operate fully autonomously and is designed to help protect shipping and critical infrastructure through a rapidly deployable counter‑unmanned aerial system, according to a Monday release. The vessel combines Saab's Giraffe 1X radar with Kraken's K3 Scout autonomous platform to provide early warning of potential drone incursions.
